Club History

The society was formed during the early fifties and was originally called The Yorkshire and Northern Counties Foreign Bird Society. The society changed it's name to the new title in the 1980's. The society grants patronages to the Clubs for open shows and also affiliation patronage to Non-open shows.

The Society encourages the breeding of foreign birds with annual awards being given to successful memebrs on their breeding sucesses.

The society hosts it's own open show, Members shows and other events throughout the year. Many of these are listed adjacent.

New Members:

Yorkshire FBS always welcomes new people who keep or are interested in keeping foreign birds as a hobby.

The club is based in West Yorkshire but has links with many other clubs in the country.

Meetings are usually held around the Leeds-Bradford area. Meeting nights are the third Tuesday in every month, commencing at 8.00pm. Please call to confirm the meeting venue.
